EroLove AI vs Nomi: What Is Explicitly Customizable?
Compare EroLove AI's authored roster with Nomi's published backstory and voice guidance, then test the limits that pages cannot prove.
EroLove AI and Nomi can both be described as AI companion products, but that label hides a creative distinction. EroLove’s current public material presents an authored cast and a fixed vocabulary for photos. Nomi’s own guidance discusses companion customization, backstory and voice interactions. If you want a character that follows your fictional history, a published backstory control is a more relevant feature than a large gallery of polished portraits.
We are assessing documentation, not memory performance or emotional quality. No account was tested for this comparison. A backstory box can exist and still be ignored by a model; an authored character can still be well written. Both outcomes require actual use to establish.
Make “customization” a measurable question
List the elements you care about: name, role, tone, relationship premise, boundaries, history, appearance and voice. For each element, ask whether you can edit it, whether the setting persists, and whether it changes the conversation. EroLove’s reviewed About text does not offer a user-uploaded character system; it describes authored companions. Nomi publishes guidance for shaping a companion’s story and interactions. That gives Nomi a clearer path for a user who wants to author a premise.
Consider a simple example: a detective partner in a city you invented, who should speak cautiously and remember that the bridge closed last winter. In a customizable product, enter those facts in the designated setup and revisit them after several sessions. In a fixed-cast product, you may have to explain them anew in chat. Neither documentation set proves whether the model will remember the bridge correctly over a month.
| Test dimension | EroLove AI | Nomi |
|---|---|---|
| Starting point | Authored personas | Customization guidance published |
| Backstory input | Not documented as user builder in reviewed About page | Backstory guidance available |
| Voice interaction | Spoken text priced in Sparks; calls marked future | Voice features described in official material |
| Consistency over time | Untested here | Untested here |
A careful first-week evaluation
Write one backstory paragraph and three questions that depend on it. Ask the first question immediately, the second after a topic change, and the third on another day. Keep a private record of the exact responses. That is a better way to judge continuity than relying on a vendor’s “remembers you” wording. Do the same for tone: one calm topic, one confusing topic and one boundary case can reveal whether a setting matters.
If voice is important, separate text-to-speech playback from live calls and check which tier includes each. EroLove’s public pricing uses Sparks for reading text and labels calls coming soon. For Nomi, inspect the current app and plan conditions. Voice availability is not evidence of low latency or natural speech.
Which is the better candidate?
For the narrow task of writing a companion backstory, EroLove AI’s public description gives too little control to recommend it as a builder. Nomi’s documented customization is a stronger research lead. That is deliberately narrower than claiming one service is universally better. Choose a product only after the settings, costs and actual responses meet your own criteria, and avoid entering deeply personal information during an exploratory trial.
